Author Presentation October 18

Create a More Tolerant and Hopeful World through Stories
WHEN: Saturday October 18 at 2:00 PM
WHERE: Home of Barbara Spencer

Author Yang Huang will discuss her novel MY GOOD SON, winner of the University of New Orleans Press Publishing Lab Prize. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote that MY GOOD SON is about “parental love…and the radical act of writing about ordinary life,” and in their review The New York Times notes Huang’s ability to realistically render “the generational push-pull of family life.” Huang will share her inspiration for writing the novel, and how she came to pursue writing while working full time as a computer engineer.

TTAG Does Community Service

Our TTAG students have undertaken several community service projects this summer. They helped paint the stairs at the Upper Detroit Steps, and also with a cleanup at Ocean Beach, all while bonding with each other and having fun. We are so proud of them!

Tech Trek Alumnae Group (TTAG) Exploratorium Visit January 2025

Our branch TTAG group went on a “Behind the Scenes” visit to the Exploratorium along with the Healdsburg branch TTAG. In addition to enjoying and learning from the wide variety of exhibits, they received a unique, behind the scenes experience of learning how, e.g., various life science exhibits are maintained, how new exhibits are designed, and much much more. It was an awe inspiring experience for all.
